The Haymarket Arena proposal for Lincoln picks up another endorsement. The latest from the Nebraska University Board of Regents. Lincoln regent Tim Clare says that he thinks it’s important.
“Because it shows our commitment to the project and our support of the project and I might add as well, like the vote on the (memorandum of understanding) it was voted on unanimously and approved.”
The regents also voted to endorse an agreement to cooperate with Lincoln in building the new arena. Next month, the regents will consider whether to become part of a joint public agency to develop the building. Lincoln residents will vote in may on a 25 million dollar bond isuse. Total financing will be an estimated 344 million dollars. The arena would be the site for men’s and women’s basketball games.
