Parents in east-central Nebraska are being warned to be on the lookout for signs their kids are playing a potentially deadly game.
Authorities say kids are calling it the choking game. Young people choke themselves or each other, aiming for the euphoric feeling they get as blood rushes back to the brain.
Earlier this month, an 11-year-old David City boy was found dead in his bedroom with a belt around his neck. He reportedly died of suffocation and is suspected to have been playing the choking game.
A public forum is planned for parents and families to talk about the dangers of the game Tuesday night at 7 in David City.
