NU gymnast headed to Kentucky for regionals

The NCAA sent out its invitations for the women’s gymnastics regional championships on Monday afternoon, setting the six-team field at the NCAA Central Regional. Competition will be hosted by the University of Kentucky at Memorial Coliseum in Lexington, Ky., on Saturday, April 10 at 5 p.m. (CST). 

The NCAA invited the 12th ranked Nebraska gymnastics team to the NCAA Central Regional. The competition will be hosted by the University of Kentucky at Memorial Coliseum in Lexington, Ky., on Saturday, April 10 at 5 p.m. (CST).

Nebraska, will square off against No. 1 Alabama, No. 13 Illinois, No. 20 Kentucky, No. 24 Central Michigan and Michigan State. The competition includes five all-around competitors and one individual event specialist per event. The top two teams and the top two all-around competitors, who are not on an advancing team, will receive an automatic berth to the 2010 NCAA Championships in Gainesville, Fla., April 22-24.
