Nebraska lawmakers this week approved two bills that address abortions in the state. Governor Dave Heineman signed both into law. One bans women who are 20 weeks or more pregnant from having an abortion. The other requires health care professionals to question a woman to see if she was pressured into making the decision and then be informed of both the psychological and physical ramifications of the procedure. Senator Ben Nelson is pleased that both bills are now law.
Senator Nelson stated he has not heard any feedback regarding the passage of the two bills from colleagues on Capitol Hill.
