Katin hit a two run homer over the bleachers in left-center field for his Pacific Coast League leading fourth home run. Koshansky then followed it with a drive to the upper part of the bleachers in right, his third.
Humber (0-1) settled down after the rocky first inning, shutting out Nashville over the next six innings. The 27-year old right-hander retired 14 of the last 16 Sounds batters he faced. Victor Marte finished with two perfect innings of relief for Omaha. For the Royals, Marc Maddox delivered a two run single to center field in the third inning off Nashville starter Chuck Lofgren.
