Nebraska junior defensive tackle Jared Crick is one of 42 players who have been named to the 2010 Lott Trophy Watch List. The list is made up of 42 of the nation’s top defensive players who have had the biggest IMPACT on their teams on and off the field. IMPACT stands for Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community and Tenacity.
Crick will be the focal point of the defensive line this year. Playing in the shadow of Ndamukong Suh, Crick put up big numbers. He had 9.5 sacks and 15 tackles for loss. He was a First Team All-Big 12 player. He made a name for himself when he set a school record with five sacks in Nebraska’s 20-10 win at Baylor on Oct. 31.
The winner will be announced in December. Suh was a finalist last year.
