Governor Dave Heineman is retracting some statements he made to affiliates KLIN in Lincoln concerning Cedars in Lincoln. Governor Heineman had expressed disappointment that Cedars underestimated the cost in their bid. But the Governor now says that his statements regarding the RFP process were technically inaccurate. He says there was not a conventional RFP process. And in the case of Cedars they did meet their contractual obligation.
Cedars President Jim Blue tells us that he appreciates the governor making the statement.
“Cedars has a 63 year tradition of helping kids right here in the Lincoln community who are in a very bad situation.”
Blue says They have an excellent relationship with the Department of Health and Human Services and are just really looking forward to their continued care of children and families that really do need our communities’ care.
Thanks KLIN Lincoln
