The St. Louis Rams have traded defensive tackle Adam Carriker to the Washington Redskins for an undisclosed draft pick. Carriker, entering his fourth NFL season, missed the entire 2009 season due to a shoulder injury suffered in the preseason. The Rams placed him on the reserved/injured list Sept. 5.
Carriker was selected in the first round (13th overall) by the Rams in the 2007 NFL Draft. He has started 25 of 31 career games and has tallied 85 tackles (57 solo), 2.0 sacks, four passes defensed and two fumble recoveries.
“We wish Adam and his family well as he continues his career in Washington,” said Rams General Manager Billy Devaney.
