The Omaha Royals rely on their pitching last night, as they beat Round Rock 6-3. With the win, the Royals take two of four games in the series.
Royals starter Gaby Hernandez would go six innings, giving up just two runs on three hits. Hernandez is now 2-1 on the season.
There were some other storylines from this game. Mother Nature had a hand in a 17 minute delay, after lightning took out the lights. The game would be delayed for 17 minutes.
The changes at the big club in Kansas City had an effect on Omaha, as Brad Thompson and Bruce Chen were both called up yesterday after KC cut Juan Cruz and designated Luis Mendoza for assignment. There is no word at this time about what changes Omaha will have to make to their pitching rotation.
The Royals will start a five game home stand tonight against Albuquerque. Omaha will send Philip Humber to the mound against the Isotopes Scott Elbert.
