Governor Dave Heineman is being questioned about the recent discontinuation of the partnership between the state and Visinet. Many foster families are still waiting for payment from the organization following their recent financial troubles. The Governor says private agencies signed contracts with the state and knew what they were getting into. A newspaper reporter told the Governor the private agencies felt they were being asked to do more than what the contract spelled out.
“I find that incredibly hard to believe and if so that is their mistake and they shouldn’t blame it on the state then.”
Cedars organization for children has also ended their agreement with the State of Nebraska.
