Two people are dead following two separate overnight shootings in Omaha.
The first happened at a Walgreens near 61st and Northwest Radial Highway. Omaha police report two men walked into the store with a short shotgun. The man armed pointed the gun at customers. A customer saw the suspect pointing the shotgun, reached into the waistband of his pants, pulled out a gun and fired several shots, hitting the suspect several times. The wounded suspect then left the store but collapsed. He was rushed to Creighton University Medical Center where he later died. The suspect who died has not been identified. The other suspect, 17 year old Angelo Douglas was arrested and charged with robbery and a weapons violation.
The customer that shot the suspect did have a valid conceal carry permit. That person was questioned by police and then released.
The second shooting happened just before 10 pm near the Miller Park area of north Omaha. Police arrived at after a report of shots fired. One male victim was found on a sidewalk. That person was transported to Creighton University Medical Center and later died.
Investigations into both shootings continue.
