This could be called the mother-load of all conventions and it is coming to Nebraska. Dana Markel is the executive director for the Omaha Convention and Visitor’s Bureau and says Omaha has been selected to host the 2012 bi-annual national meeting of the Industrial Asset Management Council.
“These are very influential delegates coming to Omaha and they are in positions to make decisions to relocate companies.”
Markel says a lot of hard work went into landing this convention.
“To land this convention was a true statewide effort and the results could be a statewide benefit.”
Markel says while only 350 people will attend, they are all senior executive leaders from across the U.S. These executives represent corporate real estate executives and economic developers.
“This convention is not the largest we’ve ever hosted. In fact, it is contained in one hotel but I’ll tell you it is one of the most influential groups of delegates we’ve ever had in our city.”
Members of the IAMC include eM, Alcoa Inc, Air Products and Chemicals Inc, BASF Corporation, ConAgra Foods, Frito Lay, General Mills, Hewlett Packard, Honda of America Manufacturing, Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceuticals Group, The Linde Group, Pfizer, ServiceMaster, Union Pacific and many other large industrial firms.
The 2012 Fall Forum is scheduled for October 7th through the 10th.
