The Wayne State baseball team lost 7-4 to top seed Minnesota State in the first round of the 2010 NSIC Baseball Tournament in St. Cloud, Minnesota Wednesday afternoon.
The Wildcats jumped out to an early 4-0 in the first three innings, but the Mavericks posted seven runs in the fourth inning to defeat WSC. Wayne State will play in an elimination game Thursday afternoon at 12:00 p.m. against Southwest Minnesota State at Joe Faber field in St. Cloud, Minnesota. The win makes the Mavericks 37-12 and the loss drops the Wildcats to 26-22.
