Chadron State’s record-setting season came to an end Friday afternoon when Metro State defeated the Eagles 12-4 during the second day of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Softball Championship. The Eagles, who won their first-ever RMAC tournament game Thursday, end their season with a record of 25-30. The 25 wins are the most for CSC since reviving its program in 2007.

The Roadrunners’ added to their lead in the fourth by scoring two runs and they ended the game by scoring three more runs in the bottom of the fifth.
The Eagles added one run in the fourth and fifth innings, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Metro’s lead. Katelyn Moore knocked in Nikki Ritzen, who was pinch running for Blair McEndaffer, in the fourth, and Stephanie Hillman’s single scored a run in the top of the fifth. Metro State’s Brittany Moss earned the win in the circle. In five innings of work she scattered five hits and allowed four earned runs.
