It’ll Be Democrat Mark Lakers trying to unseat Republican Governor Dave Heineman in November. We talked to Heineman as the numbers continued to roll in, in his favor during the Republican Primary. Heineman says he’s focused on doing his job and will continue to work on jobs, the economy, and education.
“I try to do that everyday, so really when we talk about the campaign, for me it’s more about doing my job everyday, it’s what the voters expect, it’s what they want me to do, and they like it when I’m focused on those key issues that are important to them.”
Heineman does not agree with Lakers who accuses the Governor of being weak on the economy. We talked to Lakers Tuesday night.
“Economic development in the state has been weak at best while Heineman has been Governor. 90 of our 93 counties have been losing population and have really had no job creation since the one industry, the ethanol boom.”
