It’s primary election day in Nebraska

All Three Nebraska Congressman are fighting to retain their seats. In the First District, Republican Jeff Fortenberry is being challenged by Ralph Bodie of Liberty and David Hunt of Blair in the Republican Primary. The Democratic primary includes four candidates from Lincoln. Jessica Lynn Turek, Stanley Krauter, Ivy Harper, and Sherman Yates. In the Second District Republican Lee Terry is up against Matt Sakalosky of Omaha. The winner takes on Democrat Tom White in the general election. In the third Congressional district, Republican Adrian Smith is running against Dennis Parker of Columbus. The winner will take on Democrat Rebekah Davis of Alliance.

In the Race for Governor, Current Republican Governor Dave Heineman is being challenged by Republicans Paul Anderson of Omaha and Christopher Geary of Omaha. The winner battles Democrat Mark Lakers of Omaha.

Three Republicans are running for Treasurer. Don Stenburg of Gretna, State Senator Tony Fulton of Lincoln, and Tom Nesbitt of Lincoln.

In November, voters will decide if they want the position of Treasurer to continue to exist in the state. The legislature decided to put the question to voters during the last session.
