Western Nebraska experienced some upsets during Tuesday’s Primary Election.
For the second time in 8 months, voters in the Ogallala Public School District have voted down a proposed school bond issue. The first one was over $30 million and was voted down in September three-to-one. The latest one was just under $23 million and got voted down almost 2-1.
Incumbent Keith County Sheriff Kevin Mueller was unseated by his opponent, former deputy Jeff Stevens. Stevens was arrested in March for DUI.
Another sheriff was unseated in western Nebraska on Tuesday. Deuel County Sheriff Jeff Ortgies lost to his opponent Adam Hayward.
