With the score tied at 2 in the bottom of the eighth, the middle of the Reno Aces lineup rattled off four straight hits off Luis Mendoza (0-2), the last two were RBIs singles from Ed Rogers and Yunesky Sanchez as the Omaha Royals lost 4-2 Wednesday afternoon.
The Royals jumped to 2-0 lead in the 2nd inning off Aces starter Billy Buckner, when the former O-Royal threw a comebacker into the stands trying to get Wilson Betemit who was too far off the third base. David Lough also scored on the play from second base.
Royals starter Bryan Bullington turned in another quality start, allowing single runs in the third and fifth, before leaving after seven innings.
The four game series resumes tonight wtih Royals right-hander Anthony Lerew (1-2) taking on Reno right-hander Kevin Mulvey (0-2).
