For the second straight night, the fans in Reno, Nevada had free baseball. But this time, the score favored the Omaha Royals as the scored five times in the top of the 10th to beat the Aces, 10-7.
The Royals would be trailing 5-3 in the eighth, when Alex Gordon hit his second home run of the game. Scott Thorman would also hit a solo shot to tie the game at five.
In the 10th, Omaha would send 11 men to the plate. Kurt Mertins would get his first two RBI’s at Triple A with a double. David Lough would follow with a solo home run. Marc Maddox would hit an RBI single to finish off the scoring for the Royals.
Gordon would have a great night at the plate and in the field. He would go 3-5 with two home runs and three RBI’s. He would also get his first outfield assist as he would throw out a runner at home trying to score on a single.
There would be some drama in the bottom of the 11th. The Aces would score two runs, and would have the bases loaded when pitcher Chris Hayes would get a game ending double play.
The Omaha Royals will continue their trip to Nevada tonight in Las Vegas. Luis Mendoza will get the start for the Royals.
