Metro State of Colorado will host Wayne State in the NCAA DII Softball Central Super Regional on Friday and Saturday (May 21-22). The NCAA Division II Softball Committee announced that Metro State will host the best two of three series with the winner advancing to the finals to be held May 27-31 at Heritage Park Softball Complex in St. Joseph, Missouri and hosted by Missouri Western State University.
Metro State is 49-4 on the season and Wayne State is 43-12 after each team won their respective region tournaments over the weekend. The opening game of the series will be played Friday, May 21st at Metro State’s Auraria Field beginning at 12 p.m. Mountain time with the second game of the series scheduled for Saturday, May 22nd at 12 p.m. Mountain time. A third, if necessary game, will be played on Saturday May 22nd following the second game of the series.
Wayne State College has advanced to the Super Regionals for the first time in school history and has won a school record 16 straight games entering the series vs. Metro State.
