“Last year, approximately 70% of Nebraskans filed electronically. Our goal for 2009 tax returns was 75%. I am pleased to report that we exceeded that goal. 79% of this year’s returns were filed electronically.”
10 years ago, the state was hiring more than 150 temporary workers to help out during tax season. This year, 27 were hired and Tax Commissioner Doug Ewald expects to hire zero temporary workers to help out during next year’s tax season.
