It is the third and final installment of Nebraska-Creighton baseball when the two team meet at Rosenblatt Stadium at 7 p.m. The Bluejays are looking for their first sweep of the Huskers since 1992.
The Huskers saw their postseason hopes end at Missouri on Sunday, when NU was swept dropping them to 24-27 overall and last in the Big 12 standings. Creighton has had their ups and downs, at 24-21, but are coming off two straight wins over Seattle this weekend. CU is finishing their season on a seven game non-conference streak before the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament.
In the first two meetings, Creighton won on a Tuesday in early April in Lincoln by a 13-5 final. The Bluejays got back-to-back homers from Soto and Alex Staehely off of Nebraska starter Chase Adams to help CU jump out to a 7-0 lead. In the second game, also played at Rosenblatt, Creighton tied the score with two runs in the seventh and took the lead for good with three runs in the bottom of the eighth, giving NU their sixth last at-bat loss of the season. For the year, NU has lost seven games in the opponent’s last at-bat.
