One state champion is crowned in Nebraska, and one will have to wait for one more day as Mother Nature again washes out a title game. The Class A champion was crowned yesterday as Papillion La Vista South beat Creighton Prep 3-1.
Papio South would get on the board in the first thanks to an RBI single off the bat of Caleb Palensky. The hit scored Beau Suponchick who led off the game with a double, and then took third on one of Creighton’s seven errors in the game.
Papio South would then get two more runs in the third to put the game away.
The only run of the game for Creighton would come in the fifth as Aiden Hook would hit an RBI double that scored Pete Langdon.
The title is the first one in any sport at Papio South. They finish the season with a record of 28-6.
The Class B championship between 20-7 Omaha Skutt and 13-14 Omaha Gross will now be this afternoon at Sherman Field.
