A Lincoln man has been arrested on drug charges following an investigation into the January death of a rural 36 year old Malcolm woman. Lancaster County Sheriff’s Captain Ben Houchen says that an autopsy showed that Charity Jacobsen died from an overdose of the prescription drug Fentanyl.
“It is a pain releiver, it is a narcotic, it’s highly addictive, and it’s very powerful. They way they are taking it – and they strain it with water and shoot it with syringes and there is a high chance of overdosing like in this case.”
Captain Houchen says that the misuse of Fentanyl is becoming more prevalent with two deaths so far this year in Lancaster County and two in Douglas County from the abuse of the drug. Arrested for provding Jacobsen with the drug was her ex-boyfriend 38 year old Corey Harrington.
