The Road to Omaha is set as the 64 Division I baseball teams were announced for regional play which will begin Friday. Arizona State is the overall number one seed. The Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners of the Big 12 will host regionals. Baylor, Texas A & M, and Kansas State round out the Big 12.
Here is the bracket for the 16 regionals. Tim Weiser, the chairman of the NCAA baseball committee, commented on ASU’s number one seed by saying, “I guess my temptation is to say it’s what they didn’t do. They didn’t make too many mistakes during the course of the season or down the stretch.”
In addition to the Big 12’s six teams, the Pac 10 will send eight teams to the tournament along with seven from the ACC and six from the SEC including last year’s national champion, LSU.
