A man believed to be in his 20’s was killed when his speeding vehicle veered out of control on eastbound Interstate 80 near the Platte River bridge in Sarpy County Tuesday morning around 7:30. Nebraska State Patrol spokesperson Deb Collins says the driver likely lost control at a high rate of speed and left the roadway. The vehicle then went into the median, through a fence and wet airborne before hitting the bank of a small creek.
The name of the driver has not yet been released. The eastbound lanes of I-80 were slowed for a time this morning due to the accident.
