The Lincoln Saltdogs dropped the second game of their seven-game road trip Tuesday, losing to Grand Prairie 11-1. Lincoln falls to 18-12 on the season.
Saltdogs starter Chris Cullen (0-1) allowed a single run in the third inning, but the Air Hogs broke the game open with a seven-run fourth inning to win 11-1 in the second game of a four game series. Grand Prairie scored two quick runs, and then loaded the bases with one out. Robert Perry hit a single to right field, the ball got by Rafael Alvarez, and all four runners came home to score. Grand Prairie tacked on one more in the inning for an 8-0 lead.
Lincoln didn’t break through against AirHogs starter Greg Krause (1-1) until the seventh inning, when Gavin Dickey tripled and Albenis Machado drove him in with an RBI single. Grand Prairie wrapped up the scoring with two more runs in the seventh and a solo home run by Greg Porter in the eighth.
Dickey finished the night 2-for-5, while Machado ended up 2-for-4 with the RBI. Rafael Alvarez also went 2-for-4, but Roberto Alvarez went 0-for-4, his hitting streak coming to an end at 11 games.
