All eyes of the college baseball world will be more focused on Omaha than in years past with the final College World Series being played at the historic Rosenblatt Stadium. CWS Inc. President Jack Diesing Jr. says fans will be able to share memories of series past at the opening ceremonies tonight.
All eight teams taking part in the CWS will march onto the field and be recognized as well as the CWS Legends Team. There is a special parachute team jump, music with the Heartland of America band and fireworks. Diesing Jr. says this event is very important as it gives everyone a chance that will not be able to attend any of the games to take part in the series. It is also a 10 day celebration of Rosenblatt Stadium. Diesing Jr. says to make the series a bit special, they will be giving away coins and mementos several times during the series. There will also be video clips from former players speaking on what they remember most about their time at Rosenblatt.
Activities are taking place all day today and the opening ceremonies this evening. The series kicks off tomorrow with the first pitch at 1:00.
