The recent flooding has prompted some innovative fishing techniques. Nebraska Game and Parks spokesman Greg Wagner says some people are standing on public roadways and shooting fish with bow and arrows. Wagner says this is illegal and you could face a fine of several hundred dollars. He advises all residents to stay off the flooded roadways.
He also advises that people need to stay out of the flooded areas. That means no swimming or wading as the flood waters are likely filled with bacteria, chemicals and debris.
