The Lincoln Saltdogs beat El Paso on Sunday, holding on for a 10-9 win in a back and forth game. With the game tied 8-8 in the top of the ninth and two out, Juan Richardson lined a single to center off of El Paso reliever Patrick Lawler (0-1)and Shawn McGill followed with a double to left that scored Richardson. Chris Brown then singled to drive in McGill, putting Lincoln in front 10-8.
El Paso, threatened to win the game in the bottom of the ninth against Saltdogs closer Chris Thompson. The Diablos put runners on first and second with one out, and Rico Santana hit an RBI single to make it 10-9. A wild pitch put the tying run on third and the winning run on second, and an intentional walk loaded the bases. Jonathan Reynoso lifted a fly ball to shallow center, and Mike Provencher attempted to tag up and score on the catch. Gavin Dickey made a pinpoint throw to the plate to retire Provencher and end the game.
McGill ended the night 4 for 5 with a home run, four RBI and three runs scored. Richardson went 3 for 5 with an RBI.
