The recent flooding has prompted some innovative fishing techniques. Nebraska Game and Parks spokesman Greg Wagner is amazed at what some people are doing.
“We have some folks out there shooting fish from public roadways with bows and arrows so there is no doing that.”
Wagner says floodwater is filled with bacteria, chemicals and debris.
“We want people to stay out of those flooded areas… no swimming or wading.”
Wagner says the fish people are shooting right now are stranded in the flood water and you are advised to leave them alone.
“You are throwing out there a few hundred dollar fine. You are impacting traffic. Please stay off those flooded roadways and no shooting fish with bow and arrows from public roads.”
