The Omaha Royals rallied for four runs in the top of the ninth to come back and defeat the Iowa Cubs 6-4. Cubs reliever Blake Parker walked Ed Lucas and Jai Miller, before giving up a three-run homer to Jordan Parraz, his sixth of the year, to give the Royals a 5-4 lead. David Lough added insurance by smashing his second ninth inning homer in as many nights to make it 6-4.
Josh Rupe (1-1) pitched two scoreless innings to get the win. Royals starter Philip Humber became the first Omaha pitcher in nearly three years to strike out ten batters in a game. The righthander finished with eleven K’s in seven innings and did not walk a single batter.
