A federal disaster declaration is being sought for 44 Nebraska counties. Lt. Governor Rick Sheehy indicates that it follows a bad weather month for Nebraska.
“Throughout the month of June, a system of severe storm including tornadoes, high winds, heavy rain, and severe flooding impacted our state.”
Nebraska has suffered more than $14 million dollars in damage to roads and other public infrastructure. The full extent of the damage might not be known for as much as a year after officials repair roads, bridges and other infrastructure around the state.
