The Omaha Royals lost 8-2 and 9-3 this weekend to Oklahoma City, two games left in this series, then a day off and a road game at Iowa on Thursday before coming home to face the Cubs on Friday. The O-Royals 7-7 so far on this 17 game road trip.
On Sunday, Redhawks DH Chad Tracy hit three homers in three consecutive innings to lead Oklahoma City to a 9-3 win over the Omaha Royals at Bricktown Ballpark. Tracy, hit his homers in the third, fourth, and fifth inning off Omaha starter Gaby Hernandez (5-5), driving in five runs.
Tracy came up a fourth time, leading off the seventh inning, and was hit by a Matt Herges’ slow curveball.
Hernandez pitched 5.1 innings, allowing eight runs and twelve runs, including four homers to suffer the loss. The Royals starter has now allowed a league-leading 25 homers.
The Royals scored all three of their runs in the fifth inning on an Alex Gordon RBI double and Kila Ka’aihue two-run homer off Guillermo Moscoso (3-3) to make it 4-3. Omaha’s offense, led by Scott Thorman’s three hits, only had one hit in the final four innings.
