The Lincoln Saltdogs won an extra inning affair at Haymarket Park on Thursday, beating Pensacola 3-2. Lincoln improves to 28-17 on the season.
With two out and nobody on base in the bottom of the tenth inning, Vance Albitz singled against Pelicans reliever Ron Hill (1-2) for his first professional hit. Gavin Dickey followed with a single to put two men on base for Rafael Alvarez who hit a single to right-center field to score Albitz and beat the team that once cut him.
Nolan Chestnut (2-0) pitched four scoreless innings of relief to earn his second win of the season. Saltdogs starter Noel Baca was solid in his debut with the team, allowing two runs on six hits over five innings of work.
The Saltdogs are still two games behind Sioux Falls with three games to play in the first half of the American Association.
