Omaha Royals starting pitcher Gaby Hernandez, a former Albuquerque pitcher led Omaha to a 4-1 win over the Isotopes Thursday night at Rosenblatt Stadium.
Hernandez gave up one run on three hits over 6.1 innings, walking three and striking out four. In his 18th start of the season, Hernandez did not allow a home run for just the fourth time. He leads the Pacific Coast League with 27homers this season.
However, it was the home run ball that helped Hernandez this time. Kila Ka’aihue led off the bottom of the second with his team-leading 17th of the season and Scott Thorman it his 15th homer of the season. It gave Thorman seven homers and 23 RBI in his last 21 games.
