After a positive tax report for May, Nebraska tax revenue took a step backward in June, falling 10% below projections. Governor Dave Heineman says the report poses another challenge for state officials.
“I am concerned that receipts for this fiscal year may fall short of projections, I am currently evaluating options to continue slowing spending this fiscal year.”
June tax receipts were 34 million dollars below projections. Gross sales taxes , a measure of how much consumers are spending , was nearly $11 million below projections.
