Four Nebraska Association Track and Field records were set Sunday on the final day of the Region 8 USA championships in Indianaola, Iowa.
Omaha North’s LaQue Moen-Davis won the 17-18 year, triple jump at 40 feet, 4-3/4 inches, beating the record of 40-2 by Jaime Volkmer of Kearney in 1999. Moen-Davis went on to win three events. Omaha’s Deja Johnson set records winning the 100 and 200-meter dashes 11-12 age group. she ran a 13.29 100 and a 27.02 200. Lauren Doeschot of Omaha won the 13-14 javelin with a record throw of 112-2.
The top-three finishers in each event except the Sub-Bantam division qualify for the July 27 through Aug. 1 USA Track and Field National Junior Olympics in Sacramento, Calif.
