The Lincoln Saltdogs lost another late lead losing 8-7 at Wichita. Lincoln drops to 31-25 on the season, 2-6 in the second half and now find themselves five games out of first place in the American Association’s North Division.
Lincoln trailed 6-5 in the eighth, but after a walk Argelis Nunez hit a two run homer, his second of the game to give the Saltdogs a 7-6 lead. Wichita, got to Lincoln reliever Adam Daniels (5-1) in the bottom of the eighth. A hit and a pair of walks loaded the bases, another walk tied the game, and a wild pitch gave the Wingnuts the lead for good. Lincoln put the tying run on second with two out in the ninth, but could not tie the game once more.
The two teams play game two of their three-game series Wednesday night at 7:05pm. Right-hander Tim Brown will make the start for the Saltdogs
