The Lincoln Saltdogs pounded out 15 hits in an 8-5 win over the Wichita Wingnuts on Wednesday. Lincoln jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second inning on a two run homer by Pat Trettel, his second of the year.
Up 4-2, Lincoln added three runs in the seventh on a three-run homer by Rafael Alvarez, and added insurance in the eighth when Albenis Machado drew a bases-loaded walk.
Saltdogs starter Tim Brown (7-5) allowed two runs over his first seven innings of work. Brown tired in the eighth inning, allowing three more runs. Chris Thompson struck out the side in the ninth for his 16th save.
Alvarez went 2-for-5 with his fifth home run. Juan Camacho finished 4-for-5, Gavin Dickey went 3-for-6, and Phil Hawke went 2-for-4 with his RBI.
