The Omaha Nighthawks, the new UFL franchise has scheduled a press conference for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Salvation Army’s Kroc Center to announce plans to utilize the $30 million facility for training camp and practices during the fall football season.
United Football League and team officials toured the Kroc Center last month after the UFL awarded the Salvation Army a $25,000 gift in support of two new youth programs.
The UFL is trying to keep their teams more involved in the city where they play…in the first season, all four teams were set up at two practice sites, one in Arizona and one in Orlando. Teams then traveled to their respective cities for games.
The Nighthawks will be the first team in the five team league to name a training facility in their home town.
