Philip Humber tossed a complete-game , four-hit shutout in leading the Omaha Royals to 3-0 victory over the Nashville Sounds at Greer Stadium. The Royal won the final three games versus the Sounds to take the Series.
Humber went the distance, allowing two walks and seven hits to pitch the Royals to their first shutout of the season.
In the top of the fourth, Kila Ka’aihue hit his 24th home run of the year over the right-field wall to make it a 1-0 game.
The Royals added insurance in the ninth inning as Ed Lucas hit his second homer off the guitar scoreboard in as many nights, his ninth of the year. Kurt Mertins added a two-out RBI single to make it a 3-0 game.
The Royals will now travel to Memphis to start a four-game series with Memphis tonight. Federico Castaneda will make the start against St. Louis Cardinals right hander Kyle Lohse, on a rehab assignment, pitching for the Redbirds.
First pitch is set for 6:05 tonight.
