The Memphis Redbirds hit five homers and rattled off 17 hits, in a 12-6 win over the Omaha Royals Sunday afternoon in Memphis.
Royals starter Edgar Osuna (0-1), in his Triple-A debut, took the loss, allowing eight runs, seven earned, and four of the five homers in 4.1 innings.
Memphis second baseman Daniel Descalso hit the last of the four homers off Osuna to start a four-run rally in the fifth that broke a 5-5 tie and put the game out of reach. on a day where the heat index reach 112 degrees.
The Royals’ Mike Moustakas hit his fifth Triple-A homer, a two-run shot off P.J. Walters (5-3). All of Moustakas’ homers as an Omaha Royal have come in six games at AutoZone Park in Memphis.
