The Omaha Royals rallied to beat the Portland Beavers 8-7 Wednesday night at Rosenblatt Stadium after being down 7-3. It was a game that featured errors, close calls, ejections and timely two out hits.
Omaha used the long ball to get back in the game. With two outs in the bottom of the sixth, Lucas May hit his third home run in five games with Omaha to make the game 7-4. Jai Miller led off the bottom of the seventh with his second solo homer of the night and Marc Maddox hit an 0-2 pitch to tie the game at 7-7. A bases load walk gave Omaha the 8-7 lead.
In all, seven of the Royals’ eight runs in the contest scored with two outs, as did five of Portland’s seven runs.
