The Nebraska football fought off temperatures that were over 100 degrees in their third practice of fall camp. The coaches said it’s about fighting through the heat and showing strong mental toughness and none of the players complained of the heat.
Senior Prince Amukamara and junior Jared Crick were both named to the watch list for the Chuck Bednarik Award, while senior running back Roy Helu claimed a spot on the Maxwell Award watch list.
Through three days of practices, Pelini and his staff are still in the mode of teaching and refreshing techniques. There are a lot of young players coming in, but also a lot of veterans so it has been a trick balance for the coaching staff when it comes to inserting plays because the playcalling is a little more advanced this year, just three days in, so it’s forcing the young players to try to get up to speed quicker.
