A seven-run third inning fueled the Omaha Royals’ easy 11-1 win over the Tacoma Rainiers on Monday evening at Rosenblatt Stadium.
Tacoma starter Blake Beavan (1-1), obtained by the Seattle Mariners from Texas a month ago in the deal that sent Cliff Lee to the Rangers, ran into trouble in teh third after a quick two first innings. Omaha sent eleven batters to the plate with seven hits and two walks. David Lough hit a triple that drove in two and Jai Miller hit a three-run homer.
It was the sixth home run in the first six games of this homestand for Miller, who now has 18 on the year. Miller would add an RBI double in the sixth inning to finish with four RBI on the night. On the homestand, Miller is 11-for-24 (.458) with six home runs, eleven RBI and nine runs scored.
Lough finished with four hits, including his second triple of the contest in the sixth inning to drive in his third run of the game. He is second in the Pacific Coast League with eleven triples
