It was back inside for the Nebraska football team in their first practice in full pads. With temperatures still above 100, head coach Bo Pelini wants to get more productive practices from his team inside where the players can focus on football and not the heat.
Senior offensive lineman Mike Smith suffered a broken leg and his season will end. In the absence of Smith, Pelini and the coaching staff will rely on the depth behind him.
Pelini does not have much to say about the quarterback situation. Obviously, this is the leader of the offense, so it is a hot topic amongst fans and the media, but Pelini is right. Wednesday was the first practice in full pads and there is a lot of time to determine who is going to lead this team.
The Huskers return to the practice field on Thursday afternoon for their sixth practice of fall camp.
