The Omaha Royals rallied for two runs in the seventh inning Wednesday for a 2-1 victory over Tacoma. A sac fly from David Lough and RBI single by Jarrod Dyson led the rally as Omaha pulls to within three games of first place Iowa for the division lead.
Edgar Osuna allowed just one unearned run on three hits over 6.0 innings. 20-year old lefty Tim Collins (1-0) picked up his first Triple-A win by pitching a scoreless seventh inning. He gave up a walk and a double to put runners at second and third with one out, but worked out of it.
Omaha’s four game sweep ends a Rainiers streak where they had won 14 consecutive contests in Omaha dating back to April 2002. The Royals finish the homestand 7-1 and have won five in a row. They have also won 12 of their last 15 and now head to Sacramento and Fresno for an eight game road trip.
