Using his victim’s cell phone leads to the arrest of a 31 year old suspect. Lincoln Police Officer Katie Flood says that the phones were taken after the 31 year old suspect tried unsuccessfully Saturday morning to rape the 25 year old victim in her apartment in Lincoln. The suspect reportedly ended up fleeing instead with $2,000 worth of her jewelry and cell phones, But this is where it turns bizarre.
“Both cell phones were being used by the suspect to call friends of the victims… the friends and the victims alerted police and we took over communication with the suspect.”
Officer Flood said that Lincoln police posing as the young women convinced the suspect to meet them at 27th and O in Lincoln yesterday afternoon where they arrested Kashaun McMorris. He is also suspected in the burglary yesterday of a Belmont man who awoke to activity in his apartment. McMorris is also wanted by Omaha Police in connection with incidents there as well.
