Nebraska senior Lindsey Licht won her first Big 12 Conference Offensive Player of the Week honor. Licht was solid at the AVCA Showcase in Omaha at the Qwest Center with 32 kills on just 48 swings to hit .542 in two matches against 14th ranked Kentucky and 13th ranked Florida. Lindsey had 14 kills in a sweep of Kentucky on Saturday, and a career best 18 kills in a five set loss to Florida on Sunday.
The Huskers are back in Omaha tonight to take on the Creighton Bluejays. The match is at 7 p.m. at the D.J. Sokol Arena. Head Coach John Cook knows CU will be excited playing in front of a sold out crowd and he’s looking forward to gettting back to Omaha to get the bad taste of losing to Florida in the second game.
Cook said that his team outplayed the Gators in every category except errors. He hopes the team fixes those mistakes tonight.
